CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: New in-person dates for Unrig Spotlight 2021 coming soon.

Unrig Summit is now American Democracy Summit

Due to a number of unforeseen circumstances we have made the difficult decision to postpone the American Democracy Summit scheduled for May 5-7, 2022 in Los Angeles, CA. We are working to keep the Summit in Los Angeles, to leverage the work already done to prepare and we are working with the selected venue to quickly determine a new date.

We know that many of you have been looking forward to convening in person for this important Summit, but we want to ensure that we have the safest and most successful event possible.

We are also planning to host a number of virtual events over the next couple of months leading up to our in-person American Democracy Summit so that our work continues to move forward. Stay tuned for more details on our website www.represent.us.

The American Democracy Summit will strictly implement safety protocols that go beyond the minimums established by the CDC. We will likely require mask wearing and social distancing and strongly encourage vaccinations. In the event that things change, we’ll respond accordingly!

If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected].

About The American Democracy Summit

Formerly the Unrig Summit, the American Democracy Summit is the premier right-left event to solve America’s political crisis. It’s the brightest minds from across the political spectrum working together to reform our broken system.

With inspiring speakers and trainers, world-class live entertainment, current and former Members of Congress, cultural influencers, activists, educators, academics, and attendees from all 50 states, American Democracy Summit is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to connect directly with the most engaged and invested members of the American democracy movement.

Whether you’re looking to build your skills as an activist, learn more about policy solutions, or to connect with others from across the United States who are ready and working to unrig the system, ADS has something for everyone looking to get involved and fight for change.

If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected].

Right now, American democracy faces multiple threats. State lawmakers from across the country have adopted policies that would suppress election participation. Partisan actors are being installed as election administrators to subvert the will of voters. And politicians are incentivized to care more about their political party and big-money campaign donors than those who elected them.

The good news is we can solve America’s political crisis. At ADS, organizers, activists, politicians, and everyday people from across the political spectrum gather to connect with peers, build their skills, and learn the issues… so we can win.

Since the inaugural Unrig Summit in 2018, participants have gone on to lead the largest wave of democracy reform victories in American history, including spearheading anti-gerrymandering initiatives in four states (MI, UT, CO, MO); winning ethics, transparency, and campaign finance reforms in cities and states across the country; and restoring the vote to 1.4 million citizens in Florida.

ADS Live! (previously Unrigged Live!) is the premier event of the Summit experience – a high-production evening of live music, celebrity entertainment, stand-up comedy, and inspiring speakers to celebrate our movement’s victories and energize us for the future.

Previous presenters and speakers include: Jennifer Lawrence, Ed Helms, UN Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights Kate Gilmore, Professor and former White House Ethics Lawyer Richard Painter, Florida voting rights advocate Desmond Meade, NASA astronaut Ron Garan, Former State Senator and Our Revolution President Nina Turner, comedians Sasheer Zamata, Tig Notaro, Nikki Glaser, and Adam Yenser, and musical guests Taylor Goldsmith, Katie Pruitt, Courtney Marie Andrews, The New Respects, HoneyHoney, and the legendary Preservation All Stars.

During the program, we also present The Courage Awards, recognizing the individuals who put it all on the line to fight for democracy.
