Sarah Higginbotham has spent her career at the helm of winning campaigns to effect policy change to protect the public interest. She has dozens of successful legislative victories in both red and blue states under her belt on some of the country’s toughest issues. She has served in leadership roles at state and national organizations, working on gun violence, public health, women’s rights, voting rights and environment, among others. Sarah’s expertise building and implementing coordinated national state strategies has advanced state-level policy solutions that level up to national impact and movement momentum. As Unite America’s Head of Program, Sarah is tasked with overseeing the investment strategy and program of the Unite America Fund, an innovative philanthropic venture fund that seeks to scale the non-partisan democracy reform movement. Sarah is a proud Duck with a B.A. in Journalism & Communications from the University of Oregon, and currently resides in Lexington, Kentucky.
